One sunny hot day Oliva Orange was very bored, so she went to do some gardening with her best friend Larry. Larry was a brightly coloured lemon. When Oliva Orange eventually got to Larry the lemon`s house there was no answer at the door so sadly Oliva Orange walked away. She ended up at the park gates. When she got there to her surprise Larry the lemon was there with all his friends. Their names were Bertie Banana, Sarah Strawberry and Peter Plum. Then Larry introduced them to Oliva Orange. Then they all raced to the swings. There were only two swings so Oliva and Larry went first then Bertie and Sarah, then they all waited for Peter Plum while he went on the swings. Then they ran across to the merry go round, suddenly it started to rain, quickly they all ran home. Yr 4 Claire Pullen THE ADVENTURE IN THE GIANTS HOUSE One morning Olivia Orange and Larry the lemon and Banana were in the wood, playing with a ball. Larry kicked the ball and Banana said "I will go and get it", when he got there he saw a big house "come quick2, said Banana "what what", said Olivia "there is a big house", "lets go in in", said Larry. They got to the door and went under the door. A mother was watching TV. "Lets go and have a look around", said Larry. They heard big foot steps, they hid under the sofa. "What are we going to do", all three of them said. They ran to the other end of the room. The Giant saw them "nice fruit come hers", said the Giant, "run" shouted all of them, the giant started running and shouted "Im going to eat you", they ran under the door and they all said "that was an adventure, lets go home", when they got home they had their tea. Yr 4 Dominique One day Larry and Olivia got an invitation from their Grampa Grapefruit. It said, is it alright if I come for tea, then there was a long line across the paper. Olivia said "this is strange", so they waited until lunch time and Grampa came. Larry said "why did you draw a line on the letter", he said "the pen slipped so dont worry. "I have a present", Olivia said to Granpa, "Larry will get it", "here your are", said Larry, "thank you", said Granpa. He opened it and guess what it was, a new set of pens. Matthew WHAT WOULD WE DO WITHOUT FRUIT? "There would be thousands of starving children who would love to eat just half of the fruit you waste", complained Daniels Mum. "O.kay if I really have to, will a few more bites be enough?", replied David. "Yes, but go and have a bath afterwards", his Mum told him. That night just before bed he heard on the news,"PEOPLE STILL TRYING TO SEND FOOD TO SOUTH AFRICA DURING DROUGHT SEEASON". When Daniel went to bed he couldnt sleep. He felt a feeling of guilt towards starving people. Here he was just taking vital fruit for granted when people hardly had enough fruit to survive. He went downstairs, he took the fruit out of the bin, a half eaten orange and a half eaten lemon Daniel took them upstairs, he put them by the side of his bed. Just looking at them made him feel guilty. A feeling of guilt lifting from his toes and rising until it settled in his stomach it started swimming around like a goldfish in its tiny bowl. Then suddenly = as quickly as it had come, it burst like a balloon and scuttled away.David didn1t know how long this happened for, but soon he fell asleep. Suddenly he heard a noise! He got a vision of himself being pulled towards the fruit. He felt he was being pulled out by the tide on a stormy night, being dragged towards the seas mercy. Soon all died down until Daniel felt disgusting squishy, squashy, sticky fruit flesh. It did taste the sane nice taste of any normal orange. After a while he saw what must be the pip. There was a door in the side so he climbed in. Inside there was a chair television with no programmes on just blank and buttons saying, LOOK RIGHT, LOOK LEFT, and so on, and a big button saying, TURN EYES ON. He decided to press it, immediately he saw a picture of outside through the television. But Daniel had a big shock. Outside were mud huts and sandy, dry muddy ground, but the biggest shock was when he saw he was high up in an orange plant, he found out with all the clues he must be in Southern Africa. The clues were mud huts, sandy, dry, muddy floors, small clumps of browny, greeny grass and Daniel was in Southern Africa, where oranges grow. Suddenly a voice said, "who are you?", "Ah, oh, er, I mean Daniel" said Daniel, "well Im called Olivia, Olivia Orange actually", said Olivia, "excuse me a minute, Im just going to talk to my friend Larry Lemon, hey Larry we have got a new orange on our plant," Olivia said. In the distance Daniel heard an African child saying, "Mum, Mum there is some oranges and lemons growing". (of course the conversation was in African). "Oh brilliant I dont think I could have stood being so hungry for any longer, go and got one orange and one lemon we will have a treat". Meanwhile Daniel was worried, "what if he picks us", he said without thinking, "thats good, because the boy will drop the seed and hopefully you will grow again", Larry Lemon told Daniel. A few seconds later Daniel did get picked but as Larry had said, the boy dropped the seed. Weeks went by then months, until Daniel was an orange plant. He named the first orange that grew on him, Olivia, but then something happened, there was a drought, Daniels roots were as dry as straw, he was about to die, but just in the nick of time an African child looked after him and watered him, soon he was back to health. Then he heard his Mum saying "Daniel, Daniel wake up". It had all been a dream!. 20 YEARS LATER ON When Daniel was an adult he became one of the governors for a charity called FFC or Fruit For Children, I wonder why? Peter Johnston |
